All ITASEC27 scientific and technical sessions, workshops, tutorials, keynote talks, panels, and institutional events will be hosted at the Santa Maria della Scala Museum in Siena from February 8 to 12, 2027.

Located in the historic centre of Siena, directly opposite the Cathedral, Santa Maria della Scala is one of the city’s most important cultural landmarks. The complex developed over centuries from a medieval hospital into a major museum and cultural centre, bringing together monumental architecture, art collections, exhibition areas, and equipped conference spaces.

Its unique combination of historical heritage and contemporary event facilities provides an inspiring setting for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration across research, institutions, and industry.

  • By train – Siena railway station is connected by regional services, mainly via Florence and Empoli. From the station, the historic centre can be reached by local public transport or taxi.
  • By plane – The nearest airports are Florence Amerigo Vespucci and Pisa Galileo Galilei. Siena can be reached from both airports by a combination of public transport, train, bus, taxi, or private transfer.
  • By car – Siena is accessible from the main Tuscan road network. As the Conference venue is inside the restricted-traffic historic centre, participants arriving by car should use public parking facilities outside the central area and continue by foot or by public transport.
